![]() ![]() So you need jump sideways and immediatly use your rope to hang on the ledge. Next time i died at the point where she informs you that she has no other way as to jump (end of the climb section). All of that while im always supercareful which direction she faces. I died on simple things like Lara doesent jump sideways to the next wall, but decides to jump backwards. Its because of this that i have redo everything from scratch (which costs me 1 hour of playtime). But on the long way climb up out of the underground there are several parts where i actually have to rely on complete RNG. So the game either counts wrong and corrects it later, or initially there should be a basecamp in between, which is not, lol.Ĭ) All would be manageable as long as i am in control. I think there are several issues with it.Ī) The distance between the basecamp where Lara finds her shotgun and the basecamp in Paititi is absurd.ī) It tells me 2/3 basecamps discovered and then all of a sudden i have all 3 unlocked after the chase sequence. ![]() So on my second playtrough i decided to give Deadly Obsession a go.Įverything worked out as planned up until the point in Cenote. Would that be something anyone would be interested in? I'd be up for it I can't deny I love situations like that that actually have consequences. ![]() Imagine if one of the challenge tombs was not a puzzle, but a long stretch of tricky traversal segments with no checkpoints? And they really just pushed it and mixed things up. I mean, I might not have had a sense of achievement but I still look back on it and laugh :p It really was moments like that that gave me a strange sense of nostalgia - arriving at that basecamp in Paititi was like finding a save crystal in TR1 after an hour of not saving. Ah ah, but it was that time, going through the caves again that really made my palms sweat - I was sooo nervous that I'd miss a jump or Lara wouldn't grab on to something again for no reason. I'm just staring at the screen, thinking, "what the hell was that?" And like tomee, I was taken all the way back to where you get the shotgun. It was after the chase scene and you're in that cavern leading back to Paititi, I just acquired those feet harness thingies to climb overhead surfaces - so, I'm climbing and I jump up, press square but she somehow misses it and just falls, arms and axe in the air, dropping like a complete idiot. I died twice on the Cenote, but the first time was just me goofing around so it didn't really count, but the second time. Especially because I was almost caught by piranhas (the scary music started to play) as I was swimming underwater in the final stretch back to the village. I have never been so happy in my life to reach a campfire and sit down to save. Third time I finally managed to reach Paititi. I was about to throw my computer out the window. After the puzzle there is a short scripted sequence where the Yaaxil chase you and Lara was shot with an arrow while hanging from an edge which made her fall to her death. I completed the puzzle for a second time and I didn't even manage to reach the exit. Holy ****, it went from worst to worster. Isn't there a campfire when you first get out of the water on your right side after jumping through the big hole? Or is that just after you complete the game? So disappointing, I don't want to do this challenge anymore. Mind you, those caverns aren't even part of Cenote anymore. Since I'm trying to get all collectibles at the same time, this death easily cost me like an hour of progress. I literally unlock a new campfire, I'm just physically unable to visit it, because the cutscene starts automatically. Surely there should've been a checkpoint after solving the puzzle. I failed one of the lateral overhang jumps while climbing out from the caverns and the game had the audacity to put me ALL THE WAY back to where I acquire the shotgun. Turns out, it unlocks only after completing the puzzle which is fair enough, but that means I never actually got a chance to visit it. So I managed to complete Cenote without a single death (not counting the piranhas in the outdoor area at the beginning) and I was kind of panicking because I couldn't find the final, third basecamp. ![]()
